Fashion Must: a perfectly fitting black dress
Ever since his years as a young boy in the beautiful Dominican Republic, Hernan Lander has had an interest in fashion. Growing up in a full household with his parents, uncles, cousins and grandparents, this now New Yorker remembers making his first garment: a skirt for his grandmother, when he was a young teen. Studying fashion both back home in the D.R. and also in the Big Apple, he works these days on designs for his own label: Hernan Lander. Not a fan of neon colors, citing that they don’t work well for everyone, Lander most enjoys working with jersey and knit fabrics, and uses inspiration he finds in modern art and architecture in his fashions today. Lander’s awards include a full scholarship to design school, countless online articles and a past presentation at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

Why He’ll win?

If experience truly is the best teacher, then this designer has learned everything he needs to win Project Runway.   An accomplished designer whose work has won critical acclaim, press, and whose experiences include working with A-List celebrities, Lander could take this season.
